| Perth City from Kings Park |
Kings Park is one of the famous icon from Perth. It is a big park and also botanical garden located just right there - in the city center, perched on a hill overlook the lower bit of the city - the CBD and part of Swan River as well as south of the river from the other side. The total area of this park is 400 hectares - ok I have been living in Perth for 2 years now and maybe less than 25% of the park I have explored! There are lots of things going on in this park throughout the year, they have dawn ceremony on Anzac Day on 25th April to commemorate the joined army from Australia and New Zealand, open air cinema during warmer evenings on summer, people picnics, jogging, walking, gathering, playing, taking photo (like what i did) - you named it..
I am lucky that this park is just located across the street (and across a small hilly road) from my office, so I could come up here and take a break. This is one that I am grateful about this place, it is so easy to find a place where you can take a break from constant work, smell the air and just walk around, feasting your eyes with the stunning view.
This shoots, I probably have hundreds in my camera and phone because I keep taking the same shots everytime I went up here, sunrise, morning, sunny day, rainy day, cloudy day, evening, sunset, night time. All pretty.
Today was a bit of wet day, it rained and stopped and rained again, although, being Perth, the rain is only what we - people from tropical country - called it 'wussy drizzle', not enough to make you completely soaked, but enough to annoy you when you're outside.
| wet pavement after the rain |
I must admit that before I never really think too much about when it's raining - we just accept it as fact of life haha, that one day it might come and one day it may come again:).. but here, I kind of miss the after-rain feeling (and also before rain feeling), the wet grass and pavement, small pools of water here and there, the smell of the moist air, clearer clouds, so I took the picture of the pavement (if only I know how to rotate the picture!).
That was my 40 min brisk walk - afternoon break, as today was a super boring day at work and seems that I can't motivate myself to do anything.
